Uniko Studio Challenge #14

Thursday, September 18, 2014

Welcome to the next challenge over at Uniko Studio! We are back to a color palette and CAS theme this month. You are free to use any of your Uniko Studio clear stamp sets or dies, or some of the FREE printables found on the Uniko website.

Isn't this a unique but fun color combination?! Hopefully there is something in this color palette that will get your creative mojo going. Feel free to use any or all of the colors.

I chose to use the teal colors in my card (one of my very favorite colors!). I love how there are three shades of it. I've been playing more with the Ranger Distress Inks, and I wanted to try creating an ombre background. So that's what I did! I inked and inked and inked that card base with Peacock Feather Distress Ink, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I tried so hard to make it blend smoothly...that was something I wasn't very good at ;)

The rest is super super simple! I stamped the sentiment, and then die-cut 5 snowflakes and glued them to the front of the card! I used scissors to trim off the snowflakes hanging over the edges ;)

So glad you stopped by and I hope I've inspired you to create a CAS card for the current challenge!!

You've got plenty of time to enter your project. October 14th, 09:00 UK time is the deadline. The winner will be announced by October 17th on the Uniko Studio blog.

Uniko Studio Revisited Blog Hop!

Thursday, September 11, 2014

Welcome to your next stop on the Uniko Studio Revisited Blog Hop! This month, we are revisiting Peace on Earth clear stamp set.

Here's my creation!

The card measures 4.25" x 4.25" square. The card base is PTI Soft Stone, and the embossed layer is white cardstock. The doves were heat embossed with silver ep on white cardstock and fussy cut. The red heart was stamped, then covered in glossy accents, and fussy cut when dry. They are all popped up with foam tape. The sentiment is stamped on a piece of vellum and attached to the embossed layer.

Be sure to hop along and simply comment on each blog for the chance to win the featured set or a Gift Certificate to the same value if you already own it. You have until Midnight Thursday, September 25th (UK time) to comment and the winner will be announced on the Uniko Studio blog on Friday, September 26th.

Bev's Bouncing Baby Boys Blog Hop!

Friday, September 5, 2014

Welcome to this VERY special blog hop for a good friend of mine, Beverley! A few days ago, she gave birth to BEAUTIFUL TWIN BOYS!! The Uniko Studio design team has teamed up for this awesome blog hop to honor Bev and her two little blessings.

Beverley - CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am so beyond excited for you! Being a mom is such a rewarding experience, and even more so with twins ;) I wish you the best in your first weeks and months as you learn more and more about those amazing little blessings you have. Cherish every moment and take lots of pics! :D

Now, onto the crafty goodness. I made a one layer card (with exception of the star diecuts). I used a technique that Laura Bassen showed in the Online Card Classes - One Layer Cards from a few months ago (yes I'm REALLY behind!). It's all about stamp layering. You can see which stamps sets I've used listed in the supplies at the end of the post.

I started by masking off the horizontal white strip in the middle of the card. Then, I stamped the light grey background, then all the stars. After removing the mask, I stamped the sentiment. Then, the stars were diecut and attached with foam tape for some dimension. I absolutely LOVE how this card turned out! What do you think?!

Ok, it's time to check out the next designer, Gillian's, beautiful card! Make sure to leave her some love! ;)

We are also inviting anyone else who would like to join in on the celebration to create a card for Bev and post it on your blog or online gallery, and then add it to the InLinkz linkup in this blog post!
