Good morning and HAPPY FRIDAY!! I'm very excited to share a card with you today for the Papertrey March Blog Hop! What can I say--I AM OFFICIALLY HOOKED! I recently ordered a bunch of stamp sets from PTI, and I'm loving everything I've played with so far!
This could get REALLY dangerous for me, LOL! Such fun stuff ;-)
Anyway, this month's challenge is to use embroidery floss in a fun and inventive way on your project. This could include stitching, wrapping it around and tying it like ribbon, braiding, accenting tags, embroidered patterns or anything else you can dream up!
I just got the first stamp set Modern Basics, that Maile Belles designed--she's one of my favorite designers. Just LOVE her clean and simple style! Well, that's what I used for this card, and I really love how it turned out. This was so fun to make--I'm really glad I got this set. I know I'll be playing with it again soon--there are so many things you can do with it!!

If you look closely, I used embroidery floss to stitch around the edges of the middle butterfly. I used a paper piercer to pierce the holes, threaded the needle with the floss, and stitched away. I think it's a neat look. Maybe if I used yellow floss instead, it may have "popped" more against the black ink.
I WOULD LOVE YOUR FEEDBACK, I ALWAYS APPRECIATE YOUR COMMENTS!
THANKS FOR MAKING A STOP AT MY BLOG ALONG THE HOP!!

So pretty! Love the color and texture...

ReplyDeleteSuper cute card, Nicki!
ReplyDeleteAnother butterfly girl! GMTA! :-) I love the CAS look of this card, enlivened with the stitching around the middle butterfly--I think the blue is definitely the right color for the stitching!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute card! Love the new stamp set you have used.
ReplyDeleteGreat use of this set! I love your butterflies.
ReplyDeleteLove how you used floss to outline the butterfly image. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun card!!! I totally love it!!
ReplyDeleteLove what you have created with Modern Basics! Great colors and adorable butterflies!
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to see this set in use. You did a wonderful job with it. I don't think you need to switch to yellow floss. The blue works well. The only suggestion I would make is to outline the entire butterfly rather than leaving the gaps of black. I think you would then get more of the pop you want. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteGreat colors! Nice job.
ReplyDeleteWhat you did is great! Maybe a wee bit of so Saffron colored floss on the bottom wings of the two blue butterflies would add a connection between the b'flies and the borders-
ReplyDeleteGreat card.. THANK YOU for sharing.. Please come and visit my blog too!!
