Uniko Studio October Release!!

Saturday, October 26, 2013

Hello and welcome to the Uniko Studio October Release day! I've got a really fun snowflake card to share with you!

The new Snowflake dies are INCREDIBLE!! I've done something a little different here. I layered the smallest snowflake die (black) BEHIND the middle-sized grey snowflake. You can see the black peeking through (click on the photo to get a better look)! Then, the red snowflake is layered behind the others. It's all popped up with foam tape for dimension, and a few red stickles were added to the points of the snowflake. Super easy CAS card!

All the stamps and dies that have been introduced this week are NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE ON THE UNIKO WEBSITE!!

Simply comment along the hop to be in the chance of winning the ENTIRE release. (If you win & have already purchased the release a full refund will be given). You have until Thursday, October 31st to comment & the winner will be announced on the Uniko blog & Facebook page.

Uniko Studio Intro...Jolly Christmas

Friday, October 25, 2013

I'm excited to share another card I've made for the Uniko Studio October Release! During the past few days, Beverley and a few of the Design Team members have been introducing the new stamp sets that are scheduled to be released this coming Saturday, Oct 26th (that's when you'll be able to purchase the new sets on the Uniko website!).

Today's introduction is Jolly Christmas. This set is simple and whimsical. Here's what I've created.

The Christmas tree is stamped repeatedly using variegated colors of green, and of course, the red one which takes center stage. Using black ink, I stamped the sentiment inside 3 of the trees, reading vertically. A yellow star with gold stickles is popped up for dimension.

Make sure to stop on over at the Uniko Studio blog to see Beverley's beautiful creations, along with some of the other design team members as well.

Uniko Studio Intro...Peace on Earth

I'm excited to share a card I've made for the Uniko Studio October Release! During the past couple days, Beverley and a few of the Design Team members have been introducing the new stamp sets that are scheduled to be released this coming Saturday, Oct 26th (that's when you'll be able to purchase the new sets on the Uniko website!).

Today's introduction is Peace on Earth. This set is very simple, but elegant. Here's what I've created.

The red cardstock base is stamped with white pigment ink around the edge, creating a border. The doves are glistening with Stickles - I just love the look of that! The die cut edge is inked with Cherry Cobbler ink, and adhered using foam tape.

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko Studio - Peace on Earth

Uniko Studio Challenge #4 - Fall Foliage

Friday, October 18, 2013

Hello all! Uniko Studio's Challenge #4 is now taking place over on the Uniko Studio blog! To celebrate the change of seasons and the beautiful scenery, we are focusing on Fall Foliage.

I knew immediately what stamp set I wanted to use when I found out what this challenge theme was. Nature's Treasure I is PERFECT for this challenge!!

I really enjoyed making this card. I feel that I stepped outside my comfort zone a little bit and made something different than my usual style. I played around with some distress inks (also used regular pigment inks as well), and wanted to make the leaves look like real fall leaves with the changing colors. Using a Tim Holtz ink blender, I applied the ink to the stamp, all while trying to blend the colors where they meet.

The thank you sentiment is stamped onto a piece of vellum and adhered using vellum tape. A few gold and amber sequins and brown rhinestones give it a glistening final touch.

I'm also entering this into the Color Media Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on my card. I really appreciate you coming by for a visit!!

You've got plenty of time to enter your project. November 14th is the deadline.

Moxie Fab World: All That Glitters is Gold

Monday, October 7, 2013

I haven't jumped on the Gold bandwagon much lately, but I decided to use it in this anniversary card for my husband. I'm entering it in the All That Glitters is Gold Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

I've incorporated gold in several ways. The two outside hearts are embossed with gold ep (the middle one is red, glittery ep). The edge of the card front has a strip of gold, glittery cardstock. My favorite part is the stitching. I used gold embroidery floss along with the Sew Easy tool to stitch a zigzag pattern over the part where the card base and the gold strip meet. I think it gives the card that extra special touch ;)

Thanks for stopping in for a visit!
