So here is my card using one of my favorite Uniko flowers. It's been a while since I inked it up, so I thought, now is the time!

All the flowers and leaves are stamped and fussy cut, then arranged to make a large bouquet. The background splatters were achieved by inking up my craft mat with the dark blue ink, then dipping a wet paintbrush in it and carefully tapping it over the card base. Love the look of the Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins scattered around the card for some shine!! Hope I've inspired you today!

The leaves were also stamped on separate card stock, fussy cut and attached to the flowers.

The small grey dots are from the set Background Builders: Round in Circles. Underneath that, I used a sentiment from Paradise: Hummingbird.

Uniko Challenge #28

Friday, January 15, 2016

Hello crafty friends! It's been a while, but we are back with a new Uniko Challenge! This month's theme is Anything Goes, with an optional twist of LOVE.

I decided to create a masculine birthday card to add to my stash....it seems those are lacking! The main panel was die cut with watercolor paper, heat embossed with white powder, and then ink blended using 3 distress ink colors. I added a few drops of water, then blotted them with a paper towel. The sentiment was also heat embossed and then blended with distress inks and popped up with foam tape.

You can use any products/stamps to enter the challenge, but we do LOVE to see you use your Uniko products. If you do use Uniko, there's an extra chance to win a prize!

THE PRIZES
  • The DT will choose a winner, who will get a £20 gift voucher.
  • The DT will choose a Top 3 who will each get 50 Loyalty Rewards Points added to their customer account.
  • We will do a random draw for all those who use a UNIKO stamp, and this winner will get 150 Loyalty Reward Points added to their customer account.
  • We will do a random draw for those who go with the option of LOVE, and this winner will receive 100 Loyalty Reward Points added to their customer account.
You've got plenty of time to play along with this month's challenge. The deadline for submission is midnight (GMT) on Friday, February 12th.

Need more inspiration to get your creativity flowing?! Make sure to check out Bev's and the DT's cards for this challenge!

Friday, November 20, 2015

**Before I get to the challenge, I want to let you know that I've finally joined Instagram!
I would LOVE to see you over there! You can find me using the link below!**

Hi there! It's time for the next challenge over at Uniko! This is our last challenge for 2015. We are taking a break in December (challenge wise), but will be back in January. This month we have another fun challenge for you to try with another optional twist too.

THEME:

CHRISTMAS
with an optional twist of CAS

You can use any stamps/products to enter the challenge, but we do LOVE to see you use your Uniko goodies and if you do there is an extra chance to win a prize!

This time we have 2 lovely and awesomely talented Guest Designers joining us, be sure to stop on by their blogs and have a look around at their creations. I think you'll be pleased!

and

Here's what I came up with. My style is CAS most of the time, so I definitely decided to use the optional CAS twist! I really love how this turned out!

The card base is layered with striped patterned paper. The white panel is die cut with a border die, and for added interest, I put it on an angle. LOVE that look! The sentiment is stamped very strategically so that the bottom loop of the "y" nested right in one of the scallops of the die cut edge. The holly leaves were stamped on a separate piece of card stock and fussy cut and popped up using foam tape. I used a corner rounder for the top right corner, and a fun glittery, gold cord finishes it off in the folded part of the card.

I'm also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, which is Christmas!

What do you think?! I'm lovin' the font of the sentiments in the Essentially Christmas set!! So trendy and I think they are stunning with red ink!

Need a little more incentive to join in the fun? Will some prizes help?

THE PRIZES!

Our DT will choose a winner who will get a £20 gift voucher

Our DT will choose a top 3 who will get 50 Loyalty Reward Points added to their customer account.

We will do a random draw for those who twist with us (CAS) and they will receive 100 Loyalty Reward Points added to their customer account.

This challenge runs for 2 weeks, closing on Friday, December 4th, 2am CST.

Uniko Challenge #26 - Geometric

Friday, October 16, 2015

Hi there! It's time for the next challenge over at Uniko!

THEME:

GEOMETRICS
with an optional twist of CIRCLES OR SQUARES

You can use any stamps/products to enter the challenge, but we do LOVE to see you use your Uniko goodies and if you do there is an extra chance to win a prize! Also, you can do a card in any style, it doesn't have to be CAS.

This time we have 2 lovely and awesomely talented Guest Designers joining us, be sure to stop on by their blogs and have a look around at their creations. You won't be disappointed!

and

Now, on to the really fun part! Here is my card for this challenge.

Now, this challenge is totally ME! I love the clean lines and simplicity of geometric shapes. I used several Background Builder sets on this card (see full supply list below). First, I die-cut a stitched border panel with white cardstock. I drew a vertical and horizontal guideline for the 4 sections. Then, doing one section at a time, I masked it off, stamped a pattern with Versamark ink, then heat embossed with white EP. Once it was all embossed, I masked off a section at a time and ink blended using Distress Inks. I LOVE this card so much. It was so fun to watch the rich colors blend so smoothly onto the card stock.
The sentiment is heat embossed with white EP onto black cardstock. Both pieces are adhered using foam tape for some dimension!

What do you think?! Would you ever try a design like this?

Need a little more incentive to join in the fun? Will some prizes help?

THE PRIZES!

Our DT will choose a winner who will get a £20 gift voucher

Our DT will choose a top 3 who will get 50 Loyalty Reward Points added to their customer account.

We will do a random draw for those who used a Uniko stamp and this winner will get 150 Loyalty Reward Points added to their customer account.

We will do a random draw for those who twist with us (THANKS) and they will receive 100 Loyalty Reward Points added to their customer account.

This challenge runs for 2 weeks, closing on Friday, October 2nd 2am CST.

Uniko Challenge Reminder

Friday, August 28, 2015

Hi there! Just popping in today to remind you that there is one more week left to join in on the current Uniko Challenge! The theme is SUMMER with an optional twist to use the image below for inspiration. Check it out:

I chose to just keep it simple and use a Summer theme without the photo for inspiration. Butterflies definitely remind me of summer so I decided to go that route. I am LOVING this card SO much! I think it's one of my personal favorites...EVER. ;)

The background is stamped using a medium grey ink. There is a diecut behind the butterfly using vellum. The butterfly was stamped on watercolor paper using Ranger Archival Ink. I colored it in using Ranger Distress Markers and then blended it with a water brush. The butterfly body is covered in Sparkle n Sprinkle glitter for a super sparkly finish! A few sequins on the card base add a bit more interest.

Thanks for stopping by today...I would love to hear what you think! Make sure to check out the Uniko blog for the design team's cards!

TWIST OF A MASCULINE CARD

  • You can use ANY stamps in the challenges
  • You can enter as many times as you want and enter as many other challenges as you want combined with ours!

Since Father's Day is only two days away, I definitely had to go with the optional masculine twist. I'm really happy with the way this one turned out! The sailboat is paper pieced using Simple Stories patterned paper. The boat is on a die cut panel from Top Dog Dies, with TDD waves overlapping. The background was repeatedly stamped using the compass from the Uniko Nautical Treasures set. Lastly, the sentiment is stamped on more SS patterned paper, which is die cut from another TDD die! I love the color combo on this, and it was so fun combining all these products together to create a fun Father's Day card!

I hope I brought some inspiration to you, and I would LOVE to see you create something for our challenge!!

Uniko Studio Challenge #19 Reminder

Friday, March 27, 2015

As you may have seen one week ago, the Uniko Studio Challenge #19 started. Today is a friendly reminder post to get your butt into gear and enter our challenge! ;)

THEME: ANYTHING GOES!

If you want, you can also use this optional sketch and if you do you could win a gift voucher to use in the Uniko store here.

  • You can use ANY stamps in the challenges
  • You can enter as many times as you want and enter as many other challenges as you want combined with ours!

I chose to not use the sketch because I like having complete freedom to create whatever I want! Here's what I got:

One of my very favorite Uniko stamp sets is Beautiful Blooms I. It's been awhile since I used it, so I just had to for this challenge!

Lucky for me (and you!), is that there's a coordinating die for this set!! So I used it for the flowers and the leaves. I took a different route with the leaves and cut them out using black card stock. I felt like it just needed something, so I completely covered both leaves with Black Stickles!! I think it turned out pretty fun, and I'm glad I got a decent picture of it.

The flower is also enhanced with some Ice Stickles all around the edge (not as easy to see in the pic). It's also popped up with some foam tape for dimension. The top right corners are punched with a corner rounder.

Hope you enjoy my card! Thanks for stopping by!

This month's theme is Birthday. Perfect for those of you who have purchased some of the new release sets this month!

I definitely need to have more masculine birthday cards on hand, so here's what I came up with. I used a few different sets (links below in supply list), and kept it pretty CAS.

~TIP~ Did you notice the balloon strings?? Wondering where it came from?? Well, I took the straight balloon string from Balloon Bash and positioned it in a curved, wavy line on the acrylic block before inking it up.

Anything Goes

or

Anything Goes & the Sketch:

Check out my card below. It's a super easy one, nice and quick for your holiday cards!
The background paper is a tan color with a gold foil leaf pattern. Sooooo gorgeous IRL! I stamped the striped banner and fussy cut it, and popped up with dimensionals. A long strip of black grosgrain ribbon is attached to the patterned paper. The sentiment is in red ink...a perfect holiday touch ;)

The Challenge Rules:
  • Winners will be announced by December 17th

  • Use any product to create your card which fits the challenge theme & be in the chance of winning a £20 Gift Certificate or placed in the Top 3 and winning a £5 Gift Certificate.

Uniko Studio Challenge #15

Sunday, October 26, 2014

Welcome to the next challenge over at Uniko Studio! We are back to a color palette and CAS theme this month. You are free to use any of your Uniko Studio clear stamp sets or dies, or some of the FREE printables found on the Uniko website.

This is a cool, rustic color palette and inspiration photo, right? Hopefully there is something here that will get your creative mojo going. Feel free to use any or all of the colors.

It took me awhile to come up with a design for this. I tend to use brighter colors, but I also thought this is a great masculine color palette! With several birthdays coming up next month for some guys in my life, it was perfect to start on their cards ;)

I am actually really happy with the overall design! This is what I love about challenges. They make me think outside the box because I know I would have never created this on my own, especially this color scheme. I'm loving the added texture at the bottom of the card. All stamps used are from the Strike a Pose stamp set.

So glad you stopped by and I hope I've inspired you to create a CAS card for the current challenge!!

Uniko Studio Challenge #14

Thursday, September 18, 2014

Welcome to the next challenge over at Uniko Studio! We are back to a color palette and CAS theme this month. You are free to use any of your Uniko Studio clear stamp sets or dies, or some of the FREE printables found on the Uniko website.

Isn't this a unique but fun color combination?! Hopefully there is something in this color palette that will get your creative mojo going. Feel free to use any or all of the colors.

I chose to use the teal colors in my card (one of my very favorite colors!). I love how there are three shades of it. I've been playing more with the Ranger Distress Inks, and I wanted to try creating an ombre background. So that's what I did! I inked and inked and inked that card base with Peacock Feather Distress Ink, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I tried so hard to make it blend smoothly...that was something I wasn't very good at ;)

The rest is super super simple! I stamped the sentiment, and then die-cut 5 snowflakes and glued them to the front of the card! I used scissors to trim off the snowflakes hanging over the edges ;)

So glad you stopped by and I hope I've inspired you to create a CAS card for the current challenge!!

Uniko Studio Challenge #13

Wednesday, August 20, 2014

Welcome to the next challenge over at Uniko Studio---Special Occasions! The special occasion could be anything from a Birthday, to a Baby Congratulations or to a Wedding Card to name a few examples. The options are endless and everyone interprets challenge words differently, but that's part of the fun and creativity! Whether you use any of your Uniko Studio clear stamp sets or dies, or some of the FREE printables found on the Uniko website, you have total freedom to create something awesome. So, what are you waiting for? Let's get crafty!

My special occasion card is for a good friend who is expecting twin girls in a few months! I'm really loving the Sweet Baby stamp set.

The card base was stamped repeatedly (in a pattern) with the "BABY" stamp. I actually stamped off for every impression to get a lighter, softer shade. An angled shape was cut from white and smokey shadow card stock, layered, and adhered to the base. On a separate piece of white card stock, I stamped the small, long, solid dot stamp from BB: Round in Circles stamp set to get a polka dot patterned paper look. Then, on top of that, I stamped the large teddy bear twice, and fussy cut them. Popped up with some foam tape, they give the card some dimension. The sentiment is nestled right in the point of the angle ;)

So glad you stopped by and I hope I've inspired you to create a Special Occasion card for the current challenge!!
