Beary Cute!

***QUICK NOTE: I AM NOW ON INSTAGRAM!
WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU OVER THERE!**

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! I hope you have gotten all or most of your tasks done and are able to relax and enjoy this day with family and friends!

So have you heard about the three new "Flakey Friends" stamp sets from Honey Bee Stamps that are available for pre-order?!?! After having a chance to play with them this week, I'm telling you, they are MUST-HAVES! Just check out how cute this guy is...

I created a square card measuring 4.5" x 4.5". The red panel has snowflakes and bear paw prints heat embossed with white embossing powder. The bear, scarf, and gifts are stamped on watercolor paper and colored using Tim Holtz distress markers and a water brush. The hat is paper pierced and embellished with some Stickles. The sentiment was put together using several stamps, presents attached to the end of the tag, and popped up with foam tape (the circle is too). SUCH a fun card to make! I created this with intent to give to one of my toddler boys for Christmas. Gotta make another one 'cause I have twins!! :D

I'm entering this in one of my favorite challenges....RIC#98 Gucci. I have this awesome green and white striped paper that I thought was PERFECT to use for the bear's hat...just like the model is wearing! I had to incorporate the white against the red background, and I think it was a good choice! Love how this card turned out!

My First Honey Bee Stamps DT Post!

Thursday, December 10, 2015

Hello Honey Bee Stamps Fans!!!! I am SOOO beyond excited to be posting my very first Honey Bee project as a new DT member! WOOHOOOOO!! I'm so honored to be chosen for this fabulous team with this FABULOUS company. Looking forward to sharing my ideas and creativity with you ;)

This is the first time I've ever used Honey Bee stamps! They really are excellent quality and I enjoyed working with them.

My card uses two stamp sets: Cherish and Lotus Blossom. I am just in love with the font used for "cherish". Isn't it so lovely? And the lotus blossom...you really can't go wrong with flowers, right?

HB_BP1_9644

I started with the background and used watercolor paper, distress inks, and foam blenders to ink up the entire panel (Seedless Preserves, Mustard Seed, and Salty Ocean). Then, using a striped stencil and a baby wipe, I gently rubbed over the stencil to remove some of the ink. I learned this technique by watching one of Kristina Werner's Videos! SUCH an amazing technique, I can't wait to try it again.

Next, I heat embossed each flower, masking as necessary along the way. Finally, the sentiment was also heat embossed, and then a handful of Rainstones were randomly added for a special touch!

HB_BP1A_9644

Hope you've enjoyed my project today. I can't wait to hear your thoughts and to share the next one!

I'M FINALLY ON INSTAGRAM!!! I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU THERE!!

Uniko Countdown to Christmas Blog Hop

Saturday, November 28, 2015

Good morning! I'm so glad you stopped by today because we have the Uniko Design Team Countdown to Christmas Blog Hop! Since I didn't receive my Nov release stamps in time for release day (as well as a few others), Bev over at Uniko decided to put on this extra Design Team blog hop. So, please enjoy all the inspiration!

In addition to what Bev is sharing on the Uniko blog, she also has more projects HERE on the website blog. Make sure to check those out as well!!!

My first card uses many layers, a style I typically don't use since I'm a true CAS girl at heart ;) But I really wanted to try out the Viva Decor Mother of Pearl Modelling Creme with a stencil. Can you see it?? It's the layer with the shimmery dots! I absolutely LOVE this look!! I will definitely be using it on more cards. The trees are stamped on separate card stock and masked to make it look like the outlined tree is behind the other two. I LOVE that Merry Christmas font, don't you?!?!

Here, I have a mostly one layer card. The bells and poinsettia are both stamped separately and fussy cut. The bells were gold embossed and then watercolored with distress ink.

Remember, simply visit & comment along the hop by midnight Saturday, December 5th to be in the chance of winning the ENTIRE release! The WINNER will be announced Sunday, December 6th.

Nicki ----> That's Me!

Friday, November 20, 2015

**Before I get to the challenge, I want to let you know that I've finally joined Instagram!
I would LOVE to see you over there! You can find me using the link below!**

Hi there! It's time for the next challenge over at Uniko! This is our last challenge for 2015. We are taking a break in December (challenge wise), but will be back in January. This month we have another fun challenge for you to try with another optional twist too.

THEME:

CHRISTMAS
with an optional twist of CAS

You can use any stamps/products to enter the challenge, but we do LOVE to see you use your Uniko goodies and if you do there is an extra chance to win a prize!

This time we have 2 lovely and awesomely talented Guest Designers joining us, be sure to stop on by their blogs and have a look around at their creations. I think you'll be pleased!

and

Here's what I came up with. My style is CAS most of the time, so I definitely decided to use the optional CAS twist! I really love how this turned out!

The card base is layered with striped patterned paper. The white panel is die cut with a border die, and for added interest, I put it on an angle. LOVE that look! The sentiment is stamped very strategically so that the bottom loop of the "y" nested right in one of the scallops of the die cut edge. The holly leaves were stamped on a separate piece of card stock and fussy cut and popped up using foam tape. I used a corner rounder for the top right corner, and a fun glittery, gold cord finishes it off in the folded part of the card.

I'm also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, which is Christmas!

What do you think?! I'm lovin' the font of the sentiments in the Essentially Christmas set!! So trendy and I think they are stunning with red ink!

Need a little more incentive to join in the fun? Will some prizes help?

25 Days of Christmas Tags

Thursday, November 12, 2015

Hi there crafty friends! I'm excited to join in on a very exciting event happening in blogland this month called "25 Days of Christmas Tags". This is the 5th anniversary of this event, but my very first time participating as part of the Uniko Design Team. Thanks to Tracey McNeely for hosting and organizing this amazing event! We are on Day 11, but if you are just arriving for the first time, all the details and the linkup can be found HERE.

The MAIN event blog post is also where you will find the participate to win link-up!

Be sure to check out the The 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2015 Pinterest board! It's updated every day with all the inspiration from the event!

Ok so now onto my tag! To be honest, I don't make tags very often. I own very few tag dies. So, I kinda rigged this one lol. First I die cut the stitched rectangle from white card stock. Then, I used a border die and die cut it again on one end of the tag. I really love those scallops!

I stamped the greenery, flowers, and the sentiment. Then I ink blended the bottom half of the tag using distress ink and a foam blending pad. I felt like it still needed something, so I decided to give it a 'dipped' look, and embossed the edge with gold embossing powder. I'm loving that look!

To finish it off, I found some gold wired ribbon in my stash.

I hope you are enjoying all the fabulous tag inspiration from all the creatives out there! I am amazed by the detail on so many of them! SOOO inspirational!!

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko Studio - Background Builders: Vines Winter Additions, Rustic Christmas
Die: Top Dog Dies - Dotted Borders Die Set; MFT - Stitched Rectangles STAX
Cardstock: PTI - White
Ink: Ranger Distress - Fired Brick; SU - Real Red; Hero Arts - Field Greens, Cup O' Joe
Other: Ranger - Princess Gold Embossing Powder; Gold Ribbon from my stash

GEOMETRICS
with an optional twist of CIRCLES OR SQUARES

This time we have 2 lovely and awesomely talented Guest Designers joining us, be sure to stop on by their blogs and have a look around at their creations. You won't be disappointed!

and

Now, on to the really fun part! Here is my card for this challenge.

Now, this challenge is totally ME! I love the clean lines and simplicity of geometric shapes. I used several Background Builder sets on this card (see full supply list below). First, I die-cut a stitched border panel with white cardstock. I drew a vertical and horizontal guideline for the 4 sections. Then, doing one section at a time, I masked it off, stamped a pattern with Versamark ink, then heat embossed with white EP. Once it was all embossed, I masked off a section at a time and ink blended using Distress Inks. I LOVE this card so much. It was so fun to watch the rich colors blend so smoothly onto the card stock.
The sentiment is heat embossed with white EP onto black cardstock. Both pieces are adhered using foam tape for some dimension!

What do you think?! Would you ever try a design like this?

Need a little more incentive to join in the fun? Will some prizes help?

THE PRIZES!

Our DT will choose a winner who will get a £20 gift voucher

Our DT will choose a top 3 who will get 50 Loyalty Reward Points added to their customer account.

Uniko Pure Florals Poinsettia Revisited Blog Hop!

Sunday, October 11, 2015

It's a great day to stop by because it's the Uniko October 2015 Design Team Blog Hop (and giveaway)!!

So, this month we are taking a look back at a previously released product, dusting it off and giving it some love! Here is an image of the whole stamp set, Pure Florals: Poinsettia.

I gold embossed the Poinsettia, the sentiment, and the small dots on the base panel. The poinsettia was embossed on a piece of watercolor paper and then colored in using distress inks and water! I absolutely loved coloring in this beautiful poinsettia! The sentiment is cut out using a Top Dog Dies die, and the striped paper is vellum with pretty gold stripes.

Uniko September Reveal, Release & Giveaway!

Saturday, September 19, 2015

Woop Woop! The day is finally here...the 3 BRAND NEW stamp sets being released today are NOW AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE on the Uniko website! YAY!

If you've been commenting on the posts the past few days (since the Sneak Peeks), you might want to check HERE to see if you are a mystery prize winner!

Here it is! The full reveal of the September Release! Enjoy!

All Occasion Sentiments #6 £4.95
Copyright Uniko Ltd 2015

As per customer request, the next addition to the All Occasion Sentiment series is here! Although Thanksgiving is not celebrated in the UK, Bev opted for an Autumnal kind of feel to the set with the large outlined THANKS and added in a few other popular sentiments.

Background Builders: Triangulate £9.95
Copyright Uniko Ltd 2015

Geometrics and tribal patterns are still a huge trend within the paper crafting industry, so Bev started designing and created her own version, Triangulate. This set is very similar to the previously released Background Builders: Round In Circles and Background Builders: Squared, adding more stamping mix and match possibilities.

Natures Treasures II £4.95
Copyright Uniko Ltd 2015

Last up we have Natures Treasures II, the next in the series with a variety of leaves and foliage. This addition to the Natures Treasures series came about as Bev LOVES to add leaves to a cluster of flowers on a CAS card. She also LOVES making her supplies and stamps stretch without breaking the bank!

This set has a nifty feature in that the single leaves from Beautiful Blooms II and Flower Power #6 coordinate with the larger leaves in this set for EVEN MORE possibilities.

Ready to see my card?! Here I've used All Occasion Sentiments #6 and Triangulate sets. I wanted to stamp the triangles in a pattern that looks like confetti falling. I chose a masculine color palette and will be giving this to my hubby for his birthday in a couple months ;) The "36" are dies from Top Dog Dies. I die cut white card stock and inked it up with one of the coordinating triangle colors.

That's all from me, but as tradition holds we have our release day blog hop. Simply visit and comment along the hop by midnight Saturday, September 26th to be in the chance of winning the ENTIRE release! If you have already purchased any or all of the release a refund will be given.

So, let's see what Bev and the rest of the AWESOME Design Team have created...

Uniko Introduces Nature's Treasures II

Friday, September 18, 2015

Hey! Good morning. Today I'm sharing my first project using Uniko Studio's new stamp set called "Nature's Treasures II". Beginning September 19th, 2015, you will be able to purchase this set HERE along with the other new sets being released this month!!

In case you missed it a couple days ago, here is the Sneak Peek photo of the stamp set.

I've created a super CAS card to showcase today's set. I'm always inspired by Bev's CAS cards where she layers cut out flowers and includes leaves in the cluster of flowers. Always so pretty! Anyway, I knew I wanted to pair these awesome leaves with some flowers, so I chose Flower Power #6. It's pretty self explanatory. The sentiment is stamped on a Top Dog Dies die, with the flowers layered over the one end of it. A few matching enamel dots give it a finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure to visit all the design team members and Beverley's blog to see more gorgeous creations using this fun set! COME BACK TOMORROW FOR MORE!!

Uniko Introduces Background Builders: Triangulate

Thursday, September 17, 2015

Hey! Good morning. Today I'm sharing my first project using Uniko Studio's new stamp set called "Background Builders: Triangulate". Beginning September 19th, 2015, you will be able to purchase this set HERE along with the other new sets being released this month!!

In case you missed it a couple days ago, here is the Sneak Peek photo of the stamp set.

Tribal and geometric designs are super popular right now, so Bev did an awesome job designing this set!

I decided to create a bit of a tribal pattern using many of the stamps in this set (there are a lot!). First I masked off a square shape in the middle of the card base panel with Post-it Tape. From there, I just inked up each different stamp and started stamping the pattern. The sentiment is heat embossed with gold powder on vellum, and placed directly over the large teal triangles, to soften it and help make the sentiment pop. The second picture below shows the gold shine of the embossing powder---just love that!!

Uniko Introduces All Occasion Sentiments #6

Wednesday, September 16, 2015

Hello there! I'm excited that today I can finally share with you my first project using Uniko Studio's new stamp set called "All Occasion Sentiments #6". Beginning September 19th, 2015, you will be able to purchase this set HERE along with the other new sets being released this month!!

In case you missed it a couple days ago, here is the Sneak Peek photo of the stamp set.

So the title of this set kinda gives it away really and you have an idea what's in store, more larger sized sentiments that will take pride of place on your cards and projects.

Here's my creation. First, I heat embossed the Thanks sentiment and the line of triangles (you'll see more of that tomorrow). The main panel is ink blended with Ranger Distress Inks on watercolor paper. I 'flicked' some water over it and let it dry. I added a few black enamel dots, and placed on a white card base.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure to visit all the design team members and Beverley's blog to see more gorgeous creations using this fun set! COME BACK TOMORROW FOR MORE!!

Uniko Challenge Reminder

Friday, August 28, 2015

Hi there! Just popping in today to remind you that there is one more week left to join in on the current Uniko Challenge! The theme is SUMMER with an optional twist to use the image below for inspiration. Check it out:

I chose to just keep it simple and use a Summer theme without the photo for inspiration. Butterflies definitely remind me of summer so I decided to go that route. I am LOVING this card SO much! I think it's one of my personal favorites...EVER. ;)

The background is stamped using a medium grey ink. There is a diecut behind the butterfly using vellum. The butterfly was stamped on watercolor paper using Ranger Archival Ink. I colored it in using Ranger Distress Markers and then blended it with a water brush. The butterfly body is covered in Sparkle n Sprinkle glitter for a super sparkly finish! A few sequins on the card base add a bit more interest.

Thanks for stopping by today...I would love to hear what you think! Make sure to check out the Uniko blog for the design team's cards!

Uniko Beautiful Blooms Revisited Blog Hop!

Tuesday, August 11, 2015

It's a great day to stop by because it's the Uniko August 2015 Design Team Blog Hop (and giveaway)!!

First I want to inform you of another exciting thing....keep your eyes peeled this week for a NEW set of dies lining the shelf at Uniko HQ!

So, this month we are taking a look back at a previously released product, dusting it off and giving it some love! This month we are revisiting TWO products, the previously released Beautiful Blooms I and II...

So let's talk about my card! One of my favorite Uniko stamp sets to date is Beautiful Blooms II! I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!! So here, I kept my card mostly black and white, but wanted to draw attention to a couple of the blooms by stamping inside the black outlines with red and yellow ink. I think it sure makes them pop! I did a lot of masking with the others flowers surrounding the colored ones, and also masked the two leaves.

The sentiment is from Simply Said Birthday. Under that, I adhered a diagonal strip of striped vellum to the bottom of the panel. I think it gives it more interest and draws your eyes down the card :) I finished it off with some sequins, and the panel is mounted to the card base using foam tape.

GIVEAWAY ALERT!! Simply comment on each blog along the hop for your chance to win the featured sets or an eGift Certificate code to the same value if you already own them.
