Uniko Studio Challenge #6

Saturday, January 18, 2014

It's time for another Uniko Studio challenge! This month is a sketch, created by the fabulously talented Gayatri!

Sticking with my usual CAS style, I created a one-layer card. I pulled out one of my favorite Uniko stamp sets, Round in Circles. Using four different colored ink, I created a pattern. It kind of looks like those beads that hang in a doorway, doesn't it? Another stamp from this set is stampedlightly on the bottom left, then "thank you" is inked up with the maroon ink then the dark chocolate chip ink. Very simple! I've added a few dots of stickles for some added character ;)

What do you think? Feedback is always welcomed ;) I really appreciate you coming by for a visit!

You've got plenty of time to enter your project. February 14th, 9:00 UK time is the deadline.

The Prizes:
  • A £10 Gift Certificate to the Winner and a Guest Design Team spot on the blog for the next challenge
  • Top Three Spotlight

Stamps: Uniko Studio - All Occasion Sentiments #3, Round in Circles
Cardstock: PTI - White

Uniko Studio Revisited Blog Hop

Saturday, January 11, 2014

Hi and welcome to the Uniko Studio Revisited blog hop using Accent Essentials: Arrows. See the image below for the full stamp set.

I'm so glad you came by for this awesome hop! I've been having a blast stamping some Valentine cards using the Accent Essentials: Arrows set, combined with the December release stamps!

This first card is actually pretty simple to make. The background is sprayed with Glimmer Mist. Once that was dry, I stamped the arrows in a pattern using black ink. The heart is also stamped in black, and popped up with foam tape. I absolutely LOVE how this turned out! I wish you could see the detail of the glimmer mist...it has such a pretty shimmer to it when the light hits it just the right way. Couldn't capture that with the camera unfortunately.

My second card has lots going on, LOL! This is totally not my usual style, and I'm really not too crazy about it, but thought I would share it with you anyway.

The pattern on the right side was created using the solid arrow shape from the set. The tiny hearts are from the Flower Power #3 set. Valentine and the arrows are heat embossed with white powder. I colored on top of the arrows with pink colored pencils. The vertical strip is silver glitter tape.

I hope I inspired you in some way today! Enjoy hopping along! Your next stop is Ren-Yi. Be sure to comment on each stop because one lucky winner will receive the Accent Essentials: Arrows stamp set, AND a £5 gift certificate to Uniko Studio!! You have until midnight Tues, Jan 14th to enter for a chance to win.

Runway Inspired Challenge RIC #50

Friday, January 3, 2014

Hello and HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I can't believe 2013 is over and we're into 2014 already. Time flies.

I'm celebrating the new year by participating in the current Runway Inspired Challenge. It was so nice to sit down and stamp and not be thinking about any Christmas/Holiday planning and prepping that needs to be done! Now it's time to relax ;)

I studied this Runway Inspired photo for awhile before starting on my card. I was deciding exactly what elements to use as my inspiration.

I like the white flowers and the angle that is formed with the jacket being unzipped. Diagonals are such a paper crafting trend these days, so I wanted to incorporate that into my design.

The card base is cream, and the angled panel is PTI's Fine Linen. I repeatedly stamped the large flower cluster stamp from PTI's Mini Blooms with Versamark Ink, and embossed it with white embossing powder.

The "Happy" is die cut from gold, shimmery card stock. I think it looks so cool! :) Finally, "Birthday" is stamped on the same angle, right above the die cut.
Thanks for taking a look. So nice to have you stop by! Happy Stamping :D
