Uniko Studio Challenge #10

Monday, May 19, 2014

Welcome to the next challenge over at Uniko Studio! I'm really loving the colors for this one...so nice and bright, colorful, and cheery! The theme is Thinking of You.

I tried a new technique, Divided Panels, for this card. Here is a tutorial by Maile Belles. I CASED the first card in her blog post.

I used a couple Flower Power stamp sets (See links in supplies list at end of post). I loved combining the different sized flowers and leaves. The tiny dot in the Background Builders: Vines set was used to give it a little extra character, stamping randomly throughout the flowers and leaves.

So glad you stopped by and I hope I've inspired you to try a new technique AND play along in our current challenge!!

You've got plenty of time to enter your project. June 14th, 09:00 UK time is the deadline. The winner will be announced by June 17th on the Uniko Studio blog.

The Prizes:
  • A £10 Gift Certificate to the Winner and a Guest Design Team spot on the blog for the next challenge
  • Top Three Spotlight

CASE Study Design Team Call Challenge

Thursday, May 1, 2014

Hey there! I'm really excited to share this project with you today! This is for the CASE Study Design Team Call challenge. This challenge blog is one of my favorite places to find inspiration! Between the Muses and the Design Team, there is always fabulous eye candy!!

The Muse I've chosen is Danielle Flanders over at Homespun with Heart. I have been a big Papertrey Ink fan for awhile, and lately I've been more drawn to Danielle's design team work. I just love her style and the way she layers things looks so perfect. Since I'm a CAS girl at heart, I thought choosing one of Danielle's cards for this challenge would make me think outside my usual CAS style ;) I really do love challenges like these because I come up with things I probably wouldn't otherwise come up with without the inspiration! Does that all make sense?!?!

Card by Danielle Flanders - original blog post

I was immediately drawn to the grey stripes on Danielle's card. The color combo is DELICIOUS, the layered flowers and buttons are exquisite, and I also love the rounded corners on the striped panel. So, I incorporated all these things into my card.

The background striped pattern was created using PTI's Background Basics: Super Stripes stamp set. The flower and leaves were die cut using PTI's Doodlie-Do dies, then layered on top of each other. Those were then popped up with foam tape.

What do you think?! I just love this card and don't want to give it away ;)

Thanks for taking a peek today. Hope you come back to visit soon!!
