Papertrey September Blog Hop Challenge

Wednesday, September 25, 2013

I've got a card to share with you for this month's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. The theme is Wreaths, and I experimented a little and came up with something a little different for mine ;) I would love to hear your opinions on this creation!

So for the base of the wreath, I first cut out a ring using two Spellbinders circle dies and cardstock. Then, I wrapped PTI Raspberry Fizz Satin Ribbon around the ring, on a slight angle so that it overlaps each other and the cardstock cannot be seen. It was adhered to the card base using Score Tape.

The flowers are from Mini Blooms, and three of them I embossed using gold embossing powder (they look a little green in the photo). They were also attached using Score Tape (LOVE that stuff!).

I added some gold trim at the top...not sure if I like it. What do you think?? I felt like it needed something. Maybe a gold bow would have worked better...

***I am also entering this in the Moxie Fab World: All That Glitters is Gold Challenge!***

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my card!!

Supplies
Stamps: PTI - Mini Blooms
Cardstock: PTI - Rustic White
Ink: Stampin' Up! - Night of Navy, Pink Passion, Mellow Moss

Uniko Studio Challenge #3 - Washi Tape

Thursday, September 19, 2013

Hello all! I'm popping in real quick today to let you know that the next challenge is now taking place over on the Uniko Studio blog! This time it's all about Washi Tape! Now, you can either use real Washi Tape on your project, or use Uniko's Washi Tape stamp set, or the Xmas Washi set!

Here is my take on the challenge. I used Wonderful Washi and stamped on vellum. Then fussy cut the pieces and adhered to the card base. Next, I die-cut the Graphic Flowers for the center. Adhered using foam tape, and finished off with a clear rhinestone in the center!! Hope I've inspired you to create something for this challenge!

You've got plenty of time to enter your project...October 14th is the deadline.

The Prizes:
  • A £10 Gift Certificate to the Winner & Guest Design Team spot on the blog for the next challenge
  • Top Three Spotlight

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko Studio - Wonderful Washi
Cardstock: PTI - Rustic White; SU - Not Quite Navy
Ink: SU - Not Quite Navy, Sage Shadow, Lavender Lace

Uniko Studio Blog Hop - Flower Power

Wednesday, September 11, 2013

Hey all! It's time for Uniko Studio's next Revisited Blog Hop! This month is all about Flower Power. I used Flower Power #1 to make a CAS card. Check it out.

The white cardstock base is stamped randomly with yellow ink using the solid flower. The outlined flower is also stamped randomly with black ink. The sentiment is stamped onto a separate piece of white cardstock and adhered using foam tape. Before adhering that, I created a grid pattern with a ruler and black marker on the bottom of the card base. This would be a fun card set to make as a gift. You could swap out the yellow with some other bright colors for a nice variety ;)

I have also entered this into the current Runway Inspired Challenge - #43. See the inspiration image below.

So glad you came by for a visit! Be sure to visit and comment on all the design team members' blogs because Beverley from Uniko is giving away ALL 3 Flower Power series stamp sets!! You have until midnight September 14th to comment to be eligible to win! The lucky winner will be announced on the Uniko blog September 15th. Enjoy the fabulous inspiration along the hop!

Celebrating Bev - A Bridal Blog Hop!

Saturday, August 31, 2013

Today's post is very special :) The Uniko Studio Design Team has put together a Surprise Bridal Blog Hop honoring Beverley. Her wedding is just days away, and we want to show our support of her super special day!

Beverley - I wish you so much joy as you celebrate the love and commitment between you and your fiance! I know just how special this time is for you, and I hope everything goes perfect, and that you will create memories that you will remember FOREVER!!! Sending all my love, Nicki :)

Ok, onto the card! I used the Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum clear stamp set as the main focus of this card. The large flower is embossed using white embossing powder. I colored it with Prismacolor pencils--two shades of teal. The flower and leaves were both cut using Uniko's awesome new dies!! The flower is popped up with foam dimensionals.

The background pattern was created using Background Basics: Lattice, with white ink. With the addition of the sentiment flag and the sequins and pearls, the card is complete! I think this is one of my favorite cards EVER. :)

Be sure to visit the Uniko Studio blog and send your well wishes to Beverley as she quickly approaches her special wedding day! Then, get hopping along to the design team members' blogs to see their absolutely FABULOUS creations!!!

Uniko Studio Super Free Saturday!

Saturday, August 24, 2013

Happy Saturday my lovely followers! It's time for another Uniko Studio Super Free Saturday! If you are not familiar with SFS, let me explain. Bev over at Uniko, has designed a great digital freebie for anyone to download! Just visit the WEBSITE, and you'll see the details there. Print it on your home printer, and then CREATE with one or more of the elements in the download. The possibilities really are endless!!

I decided to incorporate elements from the SFS digital file, and a couple stamp sets.

You can see that I used the green panel, and tilted it on an angle. I cut out two pieces from other elements in the free digital download--the flower cluster in the white panel, and the top part of the red/white polka dot panel. I adhered the polka dot piece right on top of the green panel, and the flower is raised with foam tape. The entire green panel is also adhered using foam tape.

I used the "thank you" sentiment from All Occasion Sentiments #3. I masked off the "you" and "thank" separately so I could make the sentiment on two lines, instead of one.

The polka dots and the circles stamped on the card base are from Background Builders: Round in Circles (one of my fav Uniko sets!!).

I hope I've inspired you to CREATE!! Be sure to also check out the Uniko Studio Blog, where Bev has some more projects to share using the SFS download, as well as other design team members!

Supplies:
Stamps/Artwork: Uniko Studio - Funky Florals SFS, All Occasion Sentiments #3, Background Builders: Round in Circles

Uniko Studio August Release Day!

Sunday, August 11, 2013

I hope you're as excited as I am about the new release from Uniko Studio!! Today is officially the day where all the latest stamp and die sets are fully revealed and are available for purchase over at the Uniko Studio website!

Check out the sets below...

I'm also excited to share this card with you! I just love how it turned out. The color combination is one I don't think I've ever used before.

The base of the card was stamped repeatedly to create a pattern using Background Builder: Flower Power. I am very pleasantly surprised, being the perfectionist that I am, that it was SOOOO easy to use these stamps to create a background! They really are pretty easy to line up over and over again to create a look that appears to be patterned paper!!

The rest of the card was stamped with images from the Flower Power #3 set. The pink flower is cut out and popped up with foam tape. I just love the little hearts in this set! It was a perfect finishing touch for this wedding card :)

I hope I have inspired you today to go and create something pretty ;) Oh, and of course to visit the Uniko website and take a look at all the wonderful stamp sets and dies they have to offer!!!

For more inspiration, don't forget to join in on the design team blog hop!! Simply comment along the hop to be in the chance of winning the ENTIRE release plus the Time clear stamp set. (If you win & have already purchased the release a full refund will be given. If you already own the Time set a gift certificate for the same price will be given). You have until Wednesday, August 14th to comment & the winner will be announced on the Uniko blog & Facebook page.

Uniko Studio August Release Intro - All Occasion Sentiments #3

Thursday, August 8, 2013

Welcome back to another intro of the Uniko Studio August release! Once again, Bev over at Uniko has created an awesome set of large sentiments.

Here is my one layer card. I chose three shades of purple and combined one of the sentiments with the Beautiful Blooms set. If you look closely, I had to mask out some sections. This is the first time I've tried masking in this way, and I think it's a neat effect, but I think I could use a little more practice ;)

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to check out the other design team blogs for more inspiration!
