Papertrey May Blog Hop Challenge

Saturday, May 25, 2013

It's time for the Papertrey Ink May Blog Hop Challenge! One of my favorite flower sets is Rosie Posie. I don't think I could ever get bored playing with this set. It is just gorgeous ;)

I chose to use the Purple Bouquet Builder photo above as my inspiration and color palette.

All the flowers and the two large leaves are die cut. The smaller flowers are popped up with foam tape. The "thanks" sentiment is from the Mini Blooms set.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Stamps: PTI - Rosie Posie, Mini Blooms (sentiment)

Happy Mother's Day!

Sunday, May 12, 2013

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Moms out there! I hope you are enjoying your day doing something you love. This is my first Mother's Day, as I'm expecting twin boys in the next few weeks! :)

I finally got a chance to use a stamp set designed by one of my favorite stamp designers, Maile Belles. It's the Happy Hydrangeas set. I used it for all three MD cards, all with similar colors, but different layouts. I'm very happy with the way they turned out! What about you? I'd love to hear feedback!

The Rock 'n Roll technique was used for the blooms, and the diecut is adhered with foam tape.

The light purple blooms are diecut and adhered with foam tape.

The oval frame and ribbon are diecut and adhered with foam tape.

Supplies
Stamps: PTI - Happy Hydrangeas
Cardstock: PTI - White
Ink: Stampin' Up! - Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Lavendar Lace; PTI - Royal Velvet

Uniko Studio Pure Florals: Gerbera Blog Hop & Challenge!

Saturday, May 11, 2013

Time for some stamping goodness today! The Uniko Studio Design Team has created some beautiful cards to share with you today. We are revisiting a stamp set that was released last year: Pure Florals-Gerbera! To start the hop, head on over to see Beverley's creation on the Uniko Studio blog. There are TWO prizes up for grabs this month!

If you comment on each DT members' blog, you'll have a chance to win a UNIKO STAMP SET OF YOUR CHOICE!!! How can you pass that up?!? ALSO, you'll see on the Uniko blog that Beverley is hosting a challenge. After hopping along to see all the design team members' cards, pick a favorite that you'd like to CASE, create your project, post to your blog, and link it up in the challenge post!! You do not need to use Uniko products for the challenge, but we would love to see them if you have them! You'll have 1 week to enter the challenge, and the winner will receive a £20 Uniko Studio gift certificate (about $30 US dollars)!!! I can't wait to see the entries for this challenge!

Ok, now on to my Gerbera card. I stuck to my typical CAS style. The flower is just so beautiful it doesn't need a lot of other things to take away from it! The white card base is embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The white panel is popped up and has rounded corners, the stamped leaves, and the sentiment. I stamped the flower on a separate piece of cardstock, fussy cut it and popped it up for dimension. That's it!! A very simple card to make ;)

CASE Study DT Search Challenge

Sunday, May 5, 2013

Hello! I'm here to showcase a card I made for the CASE Study Design Team Search Challenge. The challenge is to choose our own "Muse" (anyone in the crafting industry whose work I look up to), and choose a project of theirs to CASE.

I have many Muses, but today I chose to CASE one of Betsy Veldman's cards. Since my style is mostly clean and simple, I chose Betsy because she uses lots of layers, lots of detail, and I also LOVE her color combinations. So her artwork is definitely "out of my comfort zone", but I welcome the challenge! It was a lot of fun!

Card by Betsy Veldman. Go here to see her blog post.

Here is the card I created. As you can see, I used the same color combo, and turned it for a horizontal layout. Using a Spellbinders die, I layered some stamped die cuts with foam tape for the focal point. Each piece of cardstock has ink around the edges to give even more dimension. A few dots of Stickles in the corners, and a couple buttons with twine finish off the card.

MY CARD!

Supplies
Stamps: PTI - Quilled Elegance
Cardstock: PTI - Rustic Cream
