Magical Birthday

Thursday, September 15, 2016

Happy Thursday everyone! I'm over on the MarkerPOP blog today sharing a unicorn card. I can't believe how popular unicorns are lately. It brings flashbacks to my childhood and My Little Ponies ;) I made this card for a special little girl who's turning 5 soon!

This card features Avery Elle stamps and dies. The light grey card stock was die cut using the largest die from the Sweet Scallops die set. It's the same size as a regular 4.25" x 5.5" card base. It's mounted to a Neenah Solar White card stock base. The stars, clouds, and stitched oval die are all cut from Neenah Solar White as well.

The rainbow & unicorn from the Be a Unicorn stamp set are stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with black embossing powder. I used the following Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a Waterbrush to color in the rainbow and the unicorn's mane, tail, and hooves: 21 Light Carmine, 29 Geranium Red, 50 Yellow, 70 Orange, 45 Pale Green, 47 May Green, 36 Light Blue, 32 Persian Blue, 83 Lilac, 80 Violet, 91 Light Gray. The star and horn on the unicorn are colored in with Clear Wink of Stella for a hint of sparkle! I also just fussy cut both pieces because I don't have the coordinating die for this set, but you can find it in the MarkerPOP store!

The sentiment is black heat embossed on the smallest oval from the Sweet Scallops die set. All the stars are also die cut from that set, and the clouds are die cut from the Special Delivery die set. The rainbow, unicorn, and oval are all popped up with foam tape.

Thank for popping in today! I hope you have enjoyed my project! Happy crafting!

Love Bug!

Thursday, August 18, 2016

Hello crafty friends! I'm over on the MarkerPOP blog today with this fun bug card! The Love Bug stamp set from Hero Arts is just the cutest, don't you think?!

I started by die cutting two panels, one with Distress Watercolor Card Stock, and one in black card stock. Using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers (Carmine Red 022, Orange 070, Yellow 050, May Green 047, Cobalt Blue 031, Violet 080), I colored a small area of each color down the middle of the card stock panel. Then using a water brush, I spread the color around just enough to cover each insect. Once it was dry, I used Hero Hues Black Dye Ink to stamp each bug over each water colored spot.

The hearts were die cut with Neenah Solar White card stock and adhered to the main panel. Using a Clear Wink of Stella glitter brush, I added lots of sparkle to each of the hearts. The panel was then adhered to the black card stock panel.

To create the pattern on the front of the card base, I lined up the "Hi!" and the "love bug" sentiments right next to each on the same clear acrylic block. Then, I repeatedly stamped across the card, staggering each line. Love that background and that font! Finally, the other panel was mounted to the card base using foam tape. This was such a fun card to make!! I hope I've inspired you today and that you can set aside some crafty time for yourself! See you next time!

Top Dog Dies and Simple Stories Product Swap

Saturday, June 20, 2015

If you haven't seen all the amazing projects this week using the new dies from TDD and the new collections from Simple Stories over on the TDD and SS blogs, then you have been missing out! I've had the pleasure to work with these products, and have had an absolute blast!

Earlier this week, TDD released 8 new die sets!! See them below, and the link will bring you to the TDD site where you can see more details.

First up is a perfect card for that “cool” boy in your life. I've paired the TDD Hippos and Water Die sets with the Simple Stories So Rad 6x6 paper pad and So Rad SN@P! Cards. The sunglasses came from the TDD Flamingo Die set.

Next up is a fun patriotic card. It really makes me long for the beach!! Aren't the Flip Flop Dies just the cutest?! There are so many different color and pattern combinations you can use to achieve so many different looks! I've also used the TDD Water Die set to create the ocean waves. With a sandy beach, ocean waves, and flip flops....Life is Good :) The red stickers used to spell “Life”, the red star sticker, and all the patterned papers are from the Simple Stories Stars & Stripes Collection Kit. The blue stickers are from the Simple Stories So Fancy Expressions Cardstock Stickers.

Last but not least, a flamingo birthday card for a very special girl. Being a girly girl myself, I absolutely LOVE the Simple Stories So Fancy collection of products. Completely drool worthy! Here I used the TDD Flamingo Die set with the SS So Fancy 6x6 paper pad and Expressions Cardstock Stickers.

I hope you have enjoyed my creations today and leave inspired to create something beautiful! I know I have definitely been inspired by all the wonderful projects shared this week.

Have a great day!

Top Dog Dies Elephant Birthday

Thursday, February 5, 2015

Welcome back to another Top Dog Dies Thursday! Today I'm sharing a really cute card that's perfect for a little girl's birthday ;)

I am loving the new dies that were just released, and this card features a few of them.

You really can't go wrong with the Elephant Die Set. The two elephant sizes (with ears), the balloons, and even a flower and heart are included.

Two of the balloons and the elephant are die cut using patterned papers, and they are all attached to the card base using foam tape. The sentiment is stamped using two shades of pink, and the balloon strings are also stamped, using a dark brown ink. The Dotted Borders Die Set is attached to the top panel of card stock at the bottom. A fun finishing touch!

Wednesday, June 11, 2014

Once again it's time for the Uniko Studio June Release! Below you will see the FOUR new products that are NOW available for purchase on the Uniko Studio website!

If you've been joining in on the fun since the Sneak Peeks you might want to check HERE to see if you are a mystery prize winner!

Now grab a drink & let's get to the fun and see these new clear stamp sets in full...

Classic Alphabe9 £4.95

First up is Classic Alphabet, which is exactly what the name of the set says, a versatile classic alphabet with 3 little monogram frames.

The next product is my FAVORITE of this release. The detail in those butterflies are just gorgeous. Endless color combos and ways to color them in.

English Country Garden - Butterflies £4.95

This set features a large butterfly which is easily coloured. Then there are two smaller butterflies and a perfectly fitting sentiment.

Next up is Flower Power #5, the next in the Flower Power Series. As you can see the set features a 2 step stamping flower and thank you themed sentiments. There were a lot of you that guessed correctly and if you recognise the flower it's because it's a larger version of one of the flowers contained in Background Builders:Vines.

Lastly but no means least we have the fourth clear stamp set being released...

Paradise - Hummingbird £4.95

This set features an elegant hummingbird and floral elements with an Art Deco feel to them. There are also a couple of sentiments in a lovely handwritten calligraphy font.

The card I am sharing with you today is a very personalized birthday card! I am loving the Classic Alphabet set. There are just SO MANY things you can do with it!

I used Kristina Werner's technique shown in this video to create the background which is on watercolor paper. Her card was also an inspiration for this one.

I cut a small white cardstock piece and rounded the left two corners. Then, I used the Classic Alphabet and stamped "BEN" first. Next was "Happy Birthday", and then the yellow stars. The balloon strings were stamped on top of the stars.

The balloons were stamped on a separate piece of white cardstock, with the larger one being stamped first. Then I cut out a mask of that balloon so I could stamp the polka dot one next to it. The stars were added for more detail...which I LOVE!! Then I fussy cut the balloons and popped them up with dimensional foam tape and positioned them right over the balloon strings. I wish I had taken a closer pic of that so you can see the dimension. All the stamp sets I used are listed in the supplies below (there were a bunch....although only one was from this release! Hope that's okay!).

Make sure to visit ALL the blogs below to see all the beautiful creations from Bev and the Design Team, AND to comment for a chance to win the ENTIRE release (If you win & have already purchased the release a full refund will be given).
