Top Dog Dies and Simple Stories Product Swap

Saturday, June 20, 2015

If you haven't seen all the amazing projects this week using the new dies from TDD and the new collections from Simple Stories over on the TDD and SS blogs, then you have been missing out! I've had the pleasure to work with these products, and have had an absolute blast!

Earlier this week, TDD released 8 new die sets!! See them below, and the link will bring you to the TDD site where you can see more details.

First up is a perfect card for that “cool” boy in your life. I've paired the TDD Hippos and Water Die sets with the Simple Stories So Rad 6x6 paper pad and So Rad SN@P! Cards. The sunglasses came from the TDD Flamingo Die set.

Next up is a fun patriotic card. It really makes me long for the beach!! Aren't the Flip Flop Dies just the cutest?! There are so many different color and pattern combinations you can use to achieve so many different looks! I've also used the TDD Water Die set to create the ocean waves. With a sandy beach, ocean waves, and flip flops....Life is Good :) The red stickers used to spell “Life”, the red star sticker, and all the patterned papers are from the Simple Stories Stars & Stripes Collection Kit. The blue stickers are from the Simple Stories So Fancy Expressions Cardstock Stickers.

Last but not least, a flamingo birthday card for a very special girl. Being a girly girl myself, I absolutely LOVE the Simple Stories So Fancy collection of products. Completely drool worthy! Here I used the TDD Flamingo Die set with the SS So Fancy 6x6 paper pad and Expressions Cardstock Stickers.

I hope you have enjoyed my creations today and leave inspired to create something beautiful! I know I have definitely been inspired by all the wonderful projects shared this week.

Have a great day!

Uniko Studio Challenge #22

Friday, June 19, 2015

Hi! Welcome to the next Uniko Studio Challenge!

We are happy to have two special Guest Designers joining us for this challenge! Please check out Anita's and Melissa's blog if you aren't familiar with their work, and to see their projects for this challenge!

THEME: ANYTHING GOES WITH OPTIONAL
TWIST OF A MASCULINE CARD

  • You can use ANY stamps in the challenges
  • You can enter as many times as you want and enter as many other challenges as you want combined with ours!

Since Father's Day is only two days away, I definitely had to go with the optional masculine twist. I'm really happy with the way this one turned out! The sailboat is paper pieced using Simple Stories patterned paper. The boat is on a die cut panel from Top Dog Dies, with TDD waves overlapping. The background was repeatedly stamped using the compass from the Uniko Nautical Treasures set. Lastly, the sentiment is stamped on more SS patterned paper, which is die cut from another TDD die! I love the color combo on this, and it was so fun combining all these products together to create a fun Father's Day card!

I hope I brought some inspiration to you, and I would LOVE to see you create something for our challenge!!

You have until Friday, July 3rd, 2:00am CST, to link your card up on the Uniko Blog

Top Dog Dies Shaker Blog Hop

Friday, May 15, 2015

Hello and welcome to the Top Dog Dies Shaker Blog Hop! If you are hopping in order, then you should have arrived here from Kymona's blog. If you'd like to start at the beginning, see the full hop list below.

I used one of my favorite TDD dies, Cross Die Set. I just had to include the beautiful intricate cross too, so I layered a gold foiled die cut over a silver foiled die cut. I included gold and silver sequins, and some pearly white seed beads for the "Shake, Shake, Shake" part ;)

It's pretty difficult to photograph foil cardstock, so I think this flat shot is closest to the true colors. Very clean, elegant, and the cross really pops through that window! I sure wish you could all see it IRL!!

I hope you enjoyed my Shaker Card. Your next stop on the hop is the super cool and talented, Jeanne Jachna! Make sure to visit her and leave her some love ;)

To add extra fun to our blog hop…TDD is offering up a prize! Three winners will receive the New Top Dog Dies Hot Air Balloon Die Set. For your chance to win, enter your email address below by 5/20/15. Winners will be posted on the Top Dog Dies blog after 5/20/15.

Here’s how it works…
Visit each blog on the hop in order, check out the shaker projects and leave your comments. Don’t forget to enter to win.

Top Dog Dies Wedding Card

Wednesday, April 22, 2015

Welcome back to another Top Dog Dies project! I have a romantic card to share with you.

I made this for a wedding. I think the TDD Heart Doily Die is sooooo pretty and intricate. I die cut it several times and layered them together.

After gluing all the layers together, I stamped the sentiment in the middle of the heart, and then stamped small, open hearts around it to accent it.

The awesome heart foiled vellum is loosely layered over the goldish colored cardstock. A very simple but elegant wedding card!

Supplies:
Stamps: Uniko Studio - Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum; Flower Power #3
Dies: Top Dog Dies - Heart Doily Die
Patterned Paper: DCWV - Foiled Vellum Stack

Top Dog Dies Tutorial

Wednesday, March 18, 2015

Hi there! My latest tutorial for Top Dog Dies is now on the TDD blog. Make sure to check it out. It's a very easy technique that gives your die cuts some interest!!
Here's a peek....

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Tuesday, March 17, 2015

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I am back with another Top Dog Dies project! I have an awesome card to share with you.

So, I am not Irish and I never celebrate St. Patty's Day. I know, I'm boring :( This is the first EVER St. Patty's day card I've ever created, and I think it's pretty rad, don't you?!

The card base is inked all around the edge using Tim Holtz distress ink in Mowed Lawn and Wild Honey. The clover leaf is created using a heart from the TDD Heart Mini Album Finishers Die Set. I inked up some watercolor paper, then tapped some water droplets on it, and let it dry. From there, I die cut 4 hearts, and all the letters for #Lucky! So fun!

The tag was done by inking up my craft sheet, spraying the ink with a spray bottle filled with water, and then pushing the cardstock into it. I let it dry, then did it again. It's such a cool affect. You should try it sometime!

The clover leaf is popped up with some foam tape for dimension.

I sure hope you enjoy this card, and if so, PLEASE let me know! I always love to hear your comments ;)

You can check out my card in the Top Dog Dies Idea Gallery, where there are direct links to all the dies I used on this project.

Supplies:
Dies: Top Dog Dies -  Dotted Tags Die Set, Typewriter Number & Symbols, Typewriter Uppercase, Typewriter Lowercase, Heart Mini Album Finishers Die Set
Cardstock: PTI - White
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress - Mowed Lawn, Wild Honey
Other: Sequin, Spray Bottle with Water, Ink Blending Tool & Sponge

The design team is having a blog hop to showcase all these fabulous new dies, so I highly encourage you to visit their blogs to see all the MASSIVE creativity that this team has up their sleeves!!! Now it's time to show you my creations! Hope I inspire you ;)

I am entering this into the current Fusion Challenge. I chose to use just the sketch. I'm loving those sun rays in the background on the card base. I wanted to make it a little more subtle, so I layered a full piece of vellum over the card base (it's hard to see in the pic).

I am entering this in the current Runway Inspired Challenge RIC #78 DKNY. I love those angled stripes on the model's top, and thought it was time to try out my new v-shaped stencil!

I hope you enjoy my cards using the new stuff! Your next stop on the hop is the super cool and talented, Piali Biswas! Make sure to visit her and leave her some love ;) If you want to start at the beginning, just visit the Top Dog Dies blog for the full DT blog list.
